S-s-s-stress!!!

Irritable lately? Anxious? Tense? Unable to Concentrate? Exhausted? You may need to take a look at this! (wow, how cliche is this blog going to be?!)

Since the world is in distress, our economy is in distress, and everyone is talking about their own stress, I thought it would be a good time to blog about Stress! According to my UNholy bible, Wikipedia, stress is defined as: a biological term which refers to the consequences of the failure of a human or animal to respond appropriately to emotional or physical threats to the organism, whether actual or imagined. It is "the autonomic response to environmental stimulus." Wowzers! It continues: It includes a state of alarm and adrenaline production, short-term resistance as a coping mechanism, and exhaustion. Common stress symptoms include irritability, muscular tension, inability to concentrate and a variety of physical reactions, such as headaches and elevated heart rate.
For those of you experiencing these symptoms (hemhem) now you can learn to identify stress and learn to find ways to deal with it in a healthy way.

When we research stress further it is important to note- over a long period of time, stress can lead to chronic anxiety, depression, diminished health, and break down your immune system- which will increase your likeliness to be sick! In other words you better get your stress under control!

STRESS KILLS!!! it may be a slow death, but it does!

Good news! You don't have to die from stress! Some ideas for managing stress are:

  • Excercise
  • Meditation/Prayer
  • Healthy Diet
  • Deep Breathing
  • Spas/FACIALS (plugplug)
  • Hot Tubs
  • Getting a Hobby
  • Relaxation Techniques
  • Art
  • Music
  • Speaking to Someone
Ok, enough of my stereotypical blog b.s. Hopefully something was accomplished here. (Sheesh, maybe this one was supposed to be in my diary instead! Shoot!!!!!!!)

  1. Great advice Sarah. I like the prayer and meditation on God's word. It helps me to realize that God will take care of everything in His own time. I just need to trust Him and keep myself in His word.
